So, you want to buy your first house?
Repeat after me: You. Can. Do. This.
Working with First Time Home Buyers is truly a passion of mine! Making the decision to purchase a home is a huge step in investing in your future and I'm so excited to work with you!
Where Should You Start?
Step 1: Meet With Me!
My goal for our first meeting: understand where you are right now and where you want to be. It's that simple! I want to hear about your goals, where you see yourself living, what kind of lifestyle you have and want to have in your home, and what particular things you need in your home.
You don't need to have looked at houses, know the next steps, or have everything in order! This is a very low-pressure conversation where we learn together!
Step 2: Discover Your Buying Power
At our first meeting, we'll discuss getting pre-approved by a local lender. We'll work through this process together before we step foot into the first house!
So why is this a crucial step? Understanding what types of loans you qualify for & what your interest rate would be shows you what your monthly payment would be for your mortgage. Once you know what type of payment fits into your budget and lifestyle, then your lender will help you take that number, put it with their data, and translate that into a purchase price range that works for you! Then, we start looking at homes within that price range!
The last thing I want to happen is for you to find a house you love, and THEN run the numbers only to find out that it would be more difficult to pay for that you want or can handle!
Step 3: Understand & Empower
One of the things I love to do with First Time Buyers like you is to teach you how everything works before it's time to write an offer on a house! I find that if you've already walked through the contract, documents, and what the steps are beforehand, you feel so much more informed, prepared, and ultimately empowered when it's time to buy your house! So we'll set up a meeting (in person, via zoom, or over the phone) to read through the paperwork together and answer questions that you have so that when you're ready to write an offer, you're more in control.
Step 4: Search, Tour, Repeat
Now the fun starts! We'll hone in on what you're looking for and start our search! I've got lots of tools to make sure you see brand new listings (and listings that have price reductions that put them in your price range), as soon as they hit the market! We'll talk about your schedule, search, tour, talk, and repeat until we find the one!
The best news: once we find the one, you get to be excited instead of unsure!
Step 5: IT'S HAPPENING!
Once you've got an offer accepted and are under contract, we'll stick together to walk through all the steps of inspections, financing details, the appraisal, negotiations, and closing together! I'm with you every step of the way to answer questions, coordinate everything, negotiate on your behalf, make recommendations for vendors, cheer you on, and keep you informed throughout the process!
Step 6: YOU DID IT!!
YOU'RE A HOMEOWNER!! After you've closed and moved in, keep my number!
Spoiler alert: I'm not going anywhere! I'm here to give you a recommendation for a plumber, make sure you have the right documents from your purchase to do your taxes, celebrate milestones, advise on improvements to add the most value to your home, and to one day help you sell your first home to move into your next one!
